- Using efficient lighting and consistent HVAC optimisation. This earns the Mall higher points in the Energy and Atmosphere category.
These sustainable improvements make sure things last and will continue enhancing customer satisfaction.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
Khalifa Bin Braik, CEO of Asset Management at Majid Al Futtaim expressed how "Majid Al Futtaim is dedicated to leading the charge toward a more sustainable future." Equally, with the company now boasting 20 LEED-certified malls, Mr Bin Braik makes it clear that the company has a strong "dedication to providing environmentally responsible shopping experiences". He notes how this achievement reflects years of hard work and dedication too.
SUSTAINED COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
This milestone shows the company's continued efforts towards becoming a global sustainability leader. It aligns with the broader commitment to become Net Positive in carbon and water by 2040.
This year, the group also announced its second Sustainability-Linked Loan (SLL). The loan, totalling $1.25 billion, is a revolving credit facility. It's directly linked to the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
RECOGNITION IN GLOBAL ESG BEST PRACTICES
Majid Al Futtaim stays committed to sustainability, aligning with global ESG best practices. In Bahrain, City Centre Bahrain's LEED Platinum Certifications show the company's dedication to sustainability. Yet this commitment extends beyond Bahrain too. The Mall of the Emirates of Dubai winning the 2023 MENA Green Building Awards, highlights the company's dedication to waste reduction and energy efficiency too. So with all this in mind, Majid Al Futtaim are striving towards a greener future in MENA real estate.
